Sunday night, we all know this feeling. Tomorrow I have to get up early and not lounge around in my pajamas with the cat until I feel like greeting the world. I take these last few hours on a Sunday night to catch up with the craziness which was the end of last week, but frankly I don’t feel like writing… I think it’s mainly because the computer I’m trying to download my 24 lame pictures to is so slow.
I’ll work on it this week, I promise. I can tell you that last week was an amazing week for art here in Providence.
I have the pictures, but time has clearly lapsed… If only I didn’t need a day job. Without a doubt, the most beautiful show this month is Beth Lipman at Cade Tompkins. Greg Cook didn’t like it as much as Lipman’s RISD show, but I think Cade is on a whole other level. The work is just flat-out gorgeous. The night of the opening there were plenty of people in the space, but everyone was very quiet. We were all just so taken in by the show. The glass just looks so majestic and gothic and most importantly different. The work is just so easy to see in a collector’s home, especially the transfer photographs.
